Little sis knows a lot more than I do about planetary conjunctions and their shenanigans, so whenever I pick up on an energy in my readings that is affecting us human beans as a collective, she’s my go to for the intel.
‘What’s the moon house doing at the mo?’ I will ask.
Rolling her eyes at my invented astrological terminology, she lets me in on all the comings and goings of eclipse window this and mercury retrograde that. And nine times out of ten, what I’m getting in my reading matches the astrological report she delivers.
Where I grew up astrology was generally considered a bit of harmless nonsense, usually a short article written in the back of a magazine. Predictions of dark handsome strangers and pots of gold to be found. These predictions were usually presented by someone with a suitably dramatic name, such as ‘Mystic Meg’, a name that will be familiar to most gen Xers in the UK. Mystic Meg was a caricature of an astrologist, but very popular as such. The astrology she offered was a bit of a giggle, a bit of fun, with an underlying suggestion that you had to be a little bit daft to take it seriously.
But if there’s something I know from years of working with Tarot, it’s that if something is ridiculed, presented as nonsense and meant to persuade you that there’s nothing in it, it means there’s something in it.
I may not know the hows, the whys, or the whens as little sis does, but I do know that that our celestial friends influence us. I feel it. I also know through journeys in the Akash that there have been (and are) civilisations that know far more than we do about our starry counterparts, and that use this knowledge to great advantage. Of course, there are also charlatans using astrology for tomfoolery and trickery [where are there not charlatans?]
Truth is astrology has been ridiculed because it is powerful, and because it points us towards the understanding of who we really are.
Universal beings.
We are more than the lives we create here.
At our core we are energy, and we are multidimensional. And likewise, Neptune, Mars, and Venus et al. are much more than just floating rocks in a dark sky. They are spiritual powerhouses that intertwine and dance and weave their energy around us. We are receivers of this planetary magic and create our own dance accordingly.
Whether its the Vedic, Hellenistic, Celtic or Mayan tradition, astrology is a wingman on your path, a seer showing you the road ahead, a wise guide helping you to understand your motivations and your impulses.
Knowing your astrology helps you know you, and once you harness this knowledge, you are the King of your castle, the captain of your ship.
This is its power.
And this is why you are persuaded that it’s just a lot of fluff and nonsense. Because when you become cognizant of what the stars are showing you; that you are a creator being, an eternal being, a point of light in the Universe, then you cannot be controlled, manipulated, or subjugated and you, not another, become the master of your universe. You are the one that becomes the writer of your script.
