Like many in recent days, my quiet thoughts have turned to those affected by the fires raging across the lands of Los Angeles in North America.
In moments of stillness, I offer up silent prayers to a Higher Force for resolution, healing, and Divine presence; for a softening of winds, cooler temperatures, and water for all.
I pray for the animals caught in the madness behind the hijacking of what would have been a relatively short-lived natural phenomena: an event turned into a catastrophe through the folly of human hands and minds that encourage the devastation for their own ends. For all those two and four legged, for those of paw and foot caught up in this madness, I pray for restitution and peace. Only a madman destroys its own.
More often than not my thoughts will then turn to areas that haven’t appeared on my computer screen: wars I know nothing about, suffering that I will never see, devastation in silent parts of the globe. My quiet petitions flow to all in need of Divine intervention in places that will likely never be known to me.
When faced with calamities from a distance it can inspire helplessness, stress, and anxiety that has no outlet. Donating a few pennies to the cause can ease a troubled mind, but restlessness remains. When our boots aren’t on the same ground it creates a feeling of impotence. We may bury this impotence and go about our day, but it remains, submerged beneath the distractions.
The vital truth is this impotence is not real. It is not the vital truth about us as human beings. We are not helpless. But many of us do not yet know our power, the kind of power perhaps a Yogi with a lifetime’s dedication to the stillness and direction of the mind could demonstrate. This secret power is in all. It is the power of the mind, the power of intention, and the power of aligning with a higher force.
Thoughts and words are vibration, they are sound magic. They are not empty vessels that get lost in the atmosphere, though many believe this to be true. “Thoughts and prayers” are often ridiculed, yet thoughts and prayers are our swords of light. They cut through darkness and allow the light back in. Aligned with the consciousness of the heartspace, they carry the force of galaxies.
If thousands were to gather at the same time, coming together in mind unison, joining together from a pure heart, aligning with pure intention of light, of love, and recognising that all humanity is one at its foundation, there would be no fires beyond Mother Nature’s natural cycle. The darkness of the firestarters would not endure, and they would lie vanquished in the sand.
When we pray, each in our individual way, through no doctrine, through no defined words, through pure petitions from our heart for the goodness of others, we create that goodness. One mind working alone can still create miracles. But many, many minds working together? We are unstoppable.
Speak your words in prayer and in a belief that they will be heard. Begin to believe in your power, and know, that in your quiet place, at your quiet time, with your own voice, with the soft words that you recite, you are moving mountains, you are making a difference, you are not helpless.
Thank you for your words Helen, animals left behind because of war has come up in conversation more than once lately. I am not sure why I even watch the news but your words have given me some peace & I will pray for various needs today. x
