Stepping into the Akash this week I was greeted by a cloud of blue butterflies.
I smiled instantly, surrounded as I was by such delicateness, such beauty, such gentleness and ethereal presence. I felt immense light and immense power. We think of power in this realm as being brute force, but these winged beings were more powerful than a thousand armies. Their frequency was pure, and they brought the mighty force of Divine connection and transformation.
The butterflies reminded me of a scene in the novel One Hundred Year’s of Solitude, where the author Gabriel García Márquez describes a clouds of yellow butterflies surrounding one of his characters. I love the genre of magic realism, to which this novel belongs, because its weaving of magic and ‘real’ life is the life of a clairvoyant. Clouds of butterflies descending and kissing my face is as real to me as a puppy kiss from my dog. The only difference? One occurs in the Akash, one in the earth realm.
Animals will often trot, hop, or fly into my Akashic work to bring a message, or to announce that they would like to be the sitter’s helper. This week I’ve bumped noses with a butterfly and a fox, a badger and a deer, a Unicorn and a mouse. They may travel with their human companion for a lifetime, or for just a day, but always, to bring Divine connection and guidance closer to their awareness, and to remind them of the connectedness of all.
Each animal brought medicine:
Butterfly: “We are transformation, we are higher power. We bring you the Divine blueprint of connection.”
Fox: “I can see beyond the human spectrum of vision and I bring you laser focus. I am playful, reminding you to release your seriousness.”
Deer: “Gentleness is power, gentleness is our gift. We are deeply intuitive, and we bring an awakening of intuition within you.”
Badger: “I bury into the deepest places, uncovering the unseen. I bring stillness and light to your days of darkness.”
Unicorn: “I am a reminder of your magic. I remind you of your wizard self and guide you from a higher place.”
Mouse: “I see into all the small spaces, I see the details. I remind you to pay attention to the little things.”
Animals as spiritual guides is as old as time and somewhere in our ancestry we have all known this connection, but it seems forgotten in so many corners of the world now. Allowing space for the message they bring is a true gift to yourself. The next time an animal crosses your path, stop for a moment, and become truly aware of their presence. See how you feel as you gaze at them. Open your heart and receive. Their medicine awaits all those with eyes to see.
